Hi there, my name is DizzahGee.  I’m a Capricorn, and I like long walks on the beach, preferably the Westfall coast.  My hobbies include working on hybrid builds, trying out new games, and (if I may be so blunt) getting blown into many pieces when I FPS.  Also, I write the longest things.

I come from a long tradition of gaming geekery and silliness. My experiences with video games come from a young age; I remember as a child of three of four playing the Atari (on a black and white TV, no less!), and trying to figure out what all of the different dots were supposed to represent.  Since then, there are… more dots.  Many more dots.  And along with it come so many new ways to enjoy that once entirely abstract experience.  Do you remember what it was like to not have button configurations spoon-fed to you within the introduction of your video game?  It’s been a long time indeed!

My upbringing was molded by role playing games, a little bit of action adventure, and a desperate longing for better music games (along with my loving parents, who support me in all of the crazy things I do.  They deserve some credit for that).  I enjoyed my Nintendo and spent countless hours at my friend’s place playing Super Mario RPG, but playing the original Sony Playstation that got me inextricably hooked into video games – after playing Final Fantasy VII, there was no looking back.  I continued through the Final Fantasy series, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Metal Gear Solid and any other games that gave me a story to experience.  Turn-based and 2D animation will always have a soft spot in my heart, as will Katamari Damacy, Frequency and Amplitude (The best music based video games bar none), Dance Dance Revolution, Ragnarok Online, and Okami.  I’ve played a lot of other games as well, and if I haven’t played it, let me know.  I might just feature an article about correcting my blunder with your name credited all over it.

My current gaming regimen includes visiting Tribes: Ascend for a game or two, getting myself familiar with the nuance of League of Legends, Terran up the streets in Starcraft 2, visiting World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic, and finding a game I really should have played before and ripping through it.  Sometimes I work, too!

When I’m not playing video games, I enjoy hearing incredible tales from friends’ tabletops, schooling the universe in Monopoly (My career high winning streak was 16, I kept a chart), finding a game night to play Settlers of Catan, Munchkin, or Arkham Horror, being a techie nerd, making indie flicks with my friends, and contemplating the best pre-raid food to order.

My friends would describe me by playing sound bites of the word “Fabulous” and “hit it real hard”.  I’m also a “huggable provider of cupcakes,” a dick, and a convincing evil emperor.  I’m not sure if that says more about me or my friends, but they’re pretty cool, so you can probably trust them.  And likely my taste in confectionery goods.  Strangers don’t call me anything; I don’t give them my phone number.
