Solid Snake Still Kicking into Metal Gear Solid 5

Despite previous belief, Solid Snake will return to the star role in Metal Gear Solid 5.

In an interview with the french magazine, IG, Hideo Kojima said that his development team was not yet finished with Solid Snake.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never claimed to be a Metal Gear Solid. This is not a game about our beloved Solid Snake,” he’s believed to have said.  ”It is a spinoff that tries something different. We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”

The quote has yet to be verified as it will be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine.

Apparently, in addition to revealing that Metal Gear Solid 5 will feature Solid Snake, Kojima hinted to a new engine known as the  ’FOX’ engine.  This engine is to incorporate a social interaction compatible to Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Metal Gear Solid 5 was confirmed last fall, and is expected out any time between April 2013 through May 2014.

If you can’t wait until then, don’t forget to check out  Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on Xbox 360 and PS3, which is out now.
